Welcome to Patearoa Honey Co.

We’re a small family owned and operated artisan honey company located in stunning Patearoa, Central Otago.

Ever since we were young, we’ve both been intrigued and fascinated by bees.  Rob, the fourth generation on this land, has distinct and fond memories of his Grandi taking him out on the family farm in the peak of summer to see the busy bees flying in and out of their hives. Anna remembers following bees around her parents’ garden as they moved from flower to flower, foraging for pollen to pack into their pollen baskets.  It was this joint fascination and love of bees from an early age that led us into beekeeping. 

Caring for our precious environment and looking after our bees to ensure their health and happiness is of utmost importance to us.  Everything we do reflects this and we’re constantly looking for ways to make further improvements.  

We’re hands-on in every step of our honey’s journey—from breeding healthy, happy queens and caring for our bees to labelling and sending each jar with care. Our honey is extracted and packed locally to meet food safety standards, ensuring it reaches you in perfect condition.
